Ultra HD Blu-ray Products Licensable under Patent License Agreement
The Premier BD Patent Licensing Group—consisting of leading technology companies Columbia University, Disney, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, InterDigital, Technicolor, Toshiba, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment—today issued an announcement clarifying that products implementing the Ultra HD Blu-ray (“UHD BD”) standard specification—which is an extended version of the BD formats—are already covered as licensed BD Products under the Premier BD Patent License Agreement, without any change to the current royalty rates and other terms thereof. Licensees will be provided a new royalty reporting form and requested to report UHD BD products separately.
